DAVIS’ DAY ENDS EARLY AT MARTINSVILLE

Mooresville, NC (April 2, 2012)- NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Dusty Davis returned to Martinsville this past weekend for Kroger 250.

Davis qualified 21th and worked his way up to 18th before an early pit stop due to overheating sent him to the rear of the field, thirty laps later Davis was back on pit road with the same issue. After a lengthy pit stop he returned to the track five laps down with the goal of moving forward before rear end gear failure put an early end to his day causing him to finish in 33rd position.

“It was a tough day for the team and I want to thank the Arrington Racing crew for working so hard to get me to the race track. I would also like to thank Thunder Exhaust, www.thunderexhaust.com. It was terrific to have them on board the #15 truck again.” said Davis.

Davis and the team are working to secure sponsorship to allow him to continue to race in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this season.

Mooresville, NC (Mar. 27,2012)- NASCAR Camping World Series driver Dusty Davis will return to the Martinsville Speedway this weekend to race in the Kroger 250, where last year Davis ran as high as five place prior to a late race incident.

After a strong thirteenth place finish at Daytona, Davis is currently in third place in Rookie of the Year points. Davis hopes to be able to secure sponsorship enabling him to run a full season and contend for the Rookie of the Year Championship.

Davis will once again pilot the No.15 Arrington Racing/Thunder Exhaust Toyota Tundra. Davis stated, “I am so excited that Thunder Exhaust is once again coming on board for Martinsville. I am hoping to be able to secure additional sponsorship to run the final 20 races of the season.”

Live Coverage on Speed begins Friday, 2p Eastern time with practice. Saturday’s coverage starts with Qualifying at 10a and race coverage begins at 1p, both Eastern time.

Off the track Davis is the National Spokesperson for the 501c Non-profit reading incentive program Driven to Read. “Reading is extremely important. I hope to inspire children to read from a young age, so they not only understand how important it is, but also learn to enjoy it,” said Davis.

At the age of 19, Dusty has already accumulated nine years of racing experience with over 80 race wins. Beginning with go karts, where the young driver secured three Grand National Championships, moving on to legend cars at the age of 14. In 2010, at the age of 17, Davis made his NASCAR debut in the Wheelen All American Series, where the rookie driver finished second overall in the California State Championship with 4 wins and 7 poles. Davis also ran two races in the KN Pro West Series in 2010 finishing in the top ten in both races. In 2011 Dusty completed in 4 Camping World Truck Series races achieving NASCAR certification.

Racer: No. 15 Arrington Racing/Thunder Exhaust Ram Truck

Race: Next Era Energy Resources 250

Mooresville, NC (February 27, 2012)- Arrington Racing driver Dusty Davis brought the Thunder Exhaust Ram Truck to the checkered flag in 13^th for his Daytona Superspeedway debut.

Davis qualified 16^th for the Next Era Energy Resources 250 and quickly made his way up front running 7^th by lap 35 before a pit stop sent him to the back of the field. Davis charged forward and was running 14^th with ten to go when his truck received right front tire damage in a restart at Lap 91. After two more attempts at a Green-white-checkered Davis was able to finish a strong 13^th in only his fifth Camping World Truck Series race.

“It was great to have the thunderexhaust.com on board. I enjoyed having Todd Shafer, the owner and the thunder exhaust crew at the track. We worked hard and were able to have a solid finish, even though it was our first time working together. ”, said Davis.

Next month Davis will return to Martinsville Speedway for the Kroger 250, where last year he ran as high as fifth before a late race incident.

Davis Will Debut In Truck Series This Week

Mooresville, NC (Feb. 20, 2012) – Dusty Davis will make his Daytona debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this week. The 19 year old rookie driver from Las Vegas, Nevada ran a limited schedule in the NCWTS last year, this coming year Davis hopes to secure sponsorship enabling him to run a full season so he can contend for the Rookie of the Year Championship.

Davis will pilot the No.15 Arrington Racing/Thunder Exhaust Ram Truck at Daytona. Davis said, “I want to thank Thunder Exhaust for coming on board for Daytona. I am scheduled to run the first two NCWTS races and I am hoping to be able to secure additional sponsorship to run the full season.”

Granite Quarry students are truly Driven to Read!

Granite Quarry students are truly Driven to Read this year! Books are being read, teachers are having conferences, minutes are being calculated, and those miles keep adding up! Granite students were surprised by a visit from Dusty Davis, NASCAR Camping World Series driver and Dylan Smith, NASCAR Drive for Diversity driver on Wednesday, December 21. These “Reading Racers” encouraged students to keep on reading and reach their goals! On Thursday, December 22 each homeroom sent their high mileage reader to a “Pizza with Dusty” party!
The ﬁrst “Driven To Read” prize drawing was also held on Thursday. Granite Quarry had two students who have already accumulated 300 reading miles! Congratulations to Nora and Alicia! Each girl received an iPod Shufﬂe! K-2 will have their reading logs checked on January 19 and 20. 3-5 will have their reading logs checked on January 25-27.
The next prize drawing will be held on January 30!!

Mooresville, NC (Sept. 20, 2011) – NASCAR Camping World Series driver Dusty Davis will be kicking off the Driven to Read program at Granite Quarry Elementary School in Granite Quarry, North Carolina on Thursday, September 29.
Driven to Read is a non-profit, merit based reading program designed to encourage youngsters to increase their reading proficiency through the power of racing. Aimed at elementary-age readers, children in the program must read for 15 minutes to gain one mile on the track. At preset intervals young readers earn prizes in recognition of their accomplishments. The greater the mileage, the greater their reward!

Mooresville, NC (August 18, 2011) – NASCAR Camping World Series driver Dusty Davis made a pit stop at the Statesville YMCA this week to wrap up the Driven to Read program held over the summer. Congratulations to the age group winners: Kindergarten- Ayden Gill, First Grade-Kadin Smoot and Jazel Jimenenez, Second Grade-Anson Shaw, Third Grade-Jenna Stutts, Fourth Grade Jada Thomas, and Sixth Grade Emily Sowder. Way to go! The grand prize winner was Emily Sowder. Emily will be receiving a personal, behind the scenes tour of Davis’ race shop.
